Introductie<\/h3><\/div><\/div>[vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

De \u2018Stichting Sint Anthony Gasthuis\u2019, gevestigd in Bolsward, is omstreeks het jaar 1463 in het leven geroepen met een ide\u00eble doelstelling.\u00a0Het bestuur van de tegenwoordige Stichting Sint Anthony Gasthuis bestaat uit 5 personen. De stichting is autonoom. Echter, eenmaal per jaar wordt er een vertegenwoordiging van de stad Bolsward door het bestuur uitgenodigd kennis te nemen van het door het bestuur in het afgelopen jaar gevoerde beleid. Deze genodigden \u00a0zijn gemeenteraadsleden en een wethouder van de gemeente S\u00fadwest-Frysl\u00e2n en de voorgangers van de vanouds in de stad gevestigde christelijke kerkgenootschappen.<\/p>\n

Het bestuur onderhoudt een nauwe samenwerking met haar zuster stichtingen Het Weeshuis en de Hendrick Nannes en Catrijn Epes-stichting.\u00a0Het bestuur heeft met haar 11 pachters een goede, zakelijke verhouding.<\/p>\n

Het Gasthuis is tot op vandaag de dag haar oude taak trouw gebleven. In het proveniershuis zijn 8 appartementen en\u00a0 langs de achter het huis gelegen fraaie tuin zijn er 4 woningen. De appartementen en de woningen werden voorheen verhuurd aan ouderen, tegenwoordig komen ook anderen in aanmerking. Het zijn kleine woningen geschikt voor alleenstaanden zonder kinderen en huisdieren. Eveneens grenzend aan de tuin van het gasthuis staat een complex van 23 bejaardenwoningen. Deze laatste woningen zijn enige jaren terug overgedragen aan de woningbouwvereniging.<\/p>\n

De stichting\u00a0 heeft een drietal doelen. Het zijn:<\/p>\n

A: Het instant houden van haar monumentale gebouwen en terreinen aan de nieuwmarkt in Bolsward met in het bijzonder de voogdenkamer en de aanpalende tuin.<\/p>\n

B: Het ondersteunen van het ouderenwerk in Bolsward.<\/p>\n

C:\u00a0 Het verlenen van subsidie aan instellingen of verenigingen die voor de stad Bolsward van bijzondere betekenis zijn.<\/p>\n

In het verleden heeft het bestuur aanzienlijke donaties verstrekt voor o.a.<\/p>\n

  • De restauratie en verbouwing van het Stadhuis tot Historisch centrum Westergo.<\/li>\n
  • De viering van \u201cBolsward 550\u201d.<\/li>\n
  • De verbouwing van de Gasthuiskerk.<\/li>\n
  • De restauratie van het Hinsz-orgel in de Martinikerk.<\/li>\n
  • De overkapping van de Broerekerk.<\/li>\n
  • De totstandkoming van het Titus Brandsmamuseum.<\/li>\n
  • De bouw van het Marnecollege.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n
